Women’s professional basketball team Bucheon Hana OneQ swept Busan BNK to extend its winning streak to three games.
Hana OneQ defeated BNK 68-60 in a home game of the Woori Bank Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League regular season at Bucheon Indoor Gymnasium on Tuesday.
With the three-game winning streak, Hana OneQ moved from a tie for third place with Yongin Samsung Life (4-6) to sole possession of third place (5-6).
They also took a 2-1 lead in the season series against BNK.
BNK, with a 3-8 record, remains in fifth place.
Shin Ji-hyun led Hana OneQ to victory with a game-high 18 points and five assists.
Veteran Kim Jong-un also shined, scoring six points and grabbing eight rebounds, including the game-winning basket in the fourth quarter.
For BNK, Lee So-hee scored a game-high 22 points, but faded in the loss.
Kim Han-byul, who injured her ankle and knee in a game against Samsung Life on March 16, returned to action and scored two points and grabbed five rebounds.
She also dished out one assist to reach the 1,000-assist mark for her career.
Leading Hana OneQ gave up four straight points, including a drive-in layup by BNK’s Lee So-hee, to cut the deficit to four points, 51-47, with just over two minutes left in the third quarter, but a three-pointer by Shin Ji-hyun and a basket by Kim Ha-na bounced them back.
Midway through the fourth quarter, there was a crisis.
Hana WonQ lost the rebounding battle and gave up back-to-back baskets to Jin An and Han Um-ji to cut the deficit to three points, 60-57.
However, they got a respite when Kim Jong-un’s fadeaway shot went through the rim with 3:40 left.
After Lee So-hee missed a three-pointer in the ensuing BNK offense, Hana OneQ widened the gap with a three-pointer from Shin Ji-hyun from the front with just over two minutes left.
With just over a minute left, Kim Jong-un made a jump shot to make it a 10-point game at 67-57, foreshadowing Hana OneQ’s victory. 슬롯게이밍
