Yablon also known as red dog, is a game of chance played with cards, in which two cards are dealt and a player bets on whether the rank of a third card would fall between them. It is a variation of acey-deucey. While found in some land casinos, its popularity has declined, although it is featured at many online casinos.

Objective of the game

The object of the game is to win bets by having a higher ranking card of the same suit in hand than the top card of the deck on your turn.

How to play Red Dog:

The player left of the dealer is first to bet. A player can bet any amount up to the amount of chips in the pot. A player is betting that a card in his/her hand is of higher rank, and in the same suit, as the top card of the deck.

Once the bet is made, the dealer flips the top card from the deck. The betting player is only required to show one card that can win the bet. If the bet is won, the original bet plus an equal amount is taken out of the pot.

If the bet is lost, the bet made stays in the pot, and the player has to show all the cards in hand. After each player has had a chance to make a bet, the deal moves to the next player to the left. Any remaining pot rolls over to the next round, plus each player makes another ante before the new round of cards are dealt.

Rule of the Game:

When the pot runs out in the middle of a round, each player will make another ante. A player can skip betting and fold by paying one chip to the pot. No cards are shown when a player folds. Players can agree to skip the pre-round ante if the pot being rolled over is large enough.
