The World’s First to Advance to 10 Consecutive Olympics

Korea is attempting to become the first country in the world to advance to the soccer finals for the 10th consecutive Olympic Games.

Hwang Seon-hong leaves for Paris, the host country, and begins cooling off.

The Olympic team, led by coach Hwang Seon-hong 지울프-토토

leaves for France through Incheon International Airport on the morning of the 13th.

Departure time is 11:45 am and the flight is Air France Flight 267 (AF267).

After arriving in Le Havre, France, Hwang Seon-hong will have a practice match with a local professional team on the 17th (local time) and an evaluation match with the French U-21 national team led by coach Thierry Henry on the 20th.

Following his gold medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, Hwang Seon-hong

who is beginning preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics, will leave for the host country, France, to warm up through practice matches and evaluation matches.

The Olympic team is preparing for the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-23 Asian Cup

which is the final Asian qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics and will be held in Qatar in April next year.

Coach Hwang Seon-hong will use this trip to France to determine whether he will advance to the final qualifying round or participate in the Olympics.

This time, Hwang Seon-Hong was convened mainly from domestic groups.

This is because it is unclear whether overseas teams will be called up for the final preliminary round to be held in April next year.

Among the overseas players, Kim Ji-soo (Brentford), Kwon Hyuk-gyu (Celtic), and Jeong Sang-bin (Minnesota) were included, while 24 domestic players, including Hong Yun-sang (Pohang), Hwang Jae-won (Daegu), and Kang Seong-jin (FC Seoul), were called up. Ko Young-jun (Pohang), Kim Jeong-hoon (Jeonbuk), and Kim Joo-hwan (Cheonan City) were excluded due to injury, so Min Kyung-hyeon (Incheon), Moon Hyun-ho (Chungnam Asan), and Uhm Um-seong (Gwangju) were named in their place.

Before leaving the country, coach Hwang Seon-hong said, “Because the age groups are completely different (from the Asian Games national team)

we need to put together a new team again.

We plan to maintain the tone according to the players’ characteristics

but run the team by taking various situations into consideration.” He said.

As the K-League is nearing its end, injury factors also exist. Three people were replaced in this convocation as well.

Coach Hwang Seon-hong said, “It is one of the worrying parts. I think it will be very difficult to recruit overseas players for the final qualifying round to be held in April next year.

Also, it is difficult to form the best members due to the injury variable.

Still, young players can be recruited through the K-League. “We are continuing to improve. We plan to prepare for April next year by focusing on domestic players.”

Coach Hwang Seon-hong simultaneously managed the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games national team and the 2024 Paris Olympic team.

There were some disappointing moments during the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup preliminaries and first round of the 2024 Paris Olympics held in Changwon.

Coach Hwang Seon-hong said, “It’s my first time managing two teams, so even though I made a lot of plans, there were some difficult parts.

Now that I can focus solely on one team, I think we should come out with an even better performance than before. We’ll overcome it well so the fans can enjoy it.

I will prepare to show you the image I want,” he said.

Hwang Seon-hong is attempting to become the first player in the world to advance to the soccer finals for the 10th consecutive Olympic Games.

The first hurdle to pass is to secure a ticket to the finals by placing in the top three at the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.

Coach Hwang Seon-hong said, “There is no victory or result for granted. That requires a lot of preparation.

It is a very big deal to go to the Olympic finals for the 10th consecutive time with the players.

Although there is not much time left, we will do our best to achieve good results in the Olympic finals as well.

I decided.
