Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a ‘steamed’ businessman when it comes to reality.
Radu Dragucin, who arrived at Tottenham in the January winter transfer window, has already been linked with a move away. ‘The Sun’ reported on the 12th (KST) that ‘Italian Serie A side Napoli want to sign Tottenham’s forgotten center-back Dragucin’.
Dragucin was loaned to Serie B side Genoa last season after Sampdoria and helped them win promotion to the top flight. He moved to Genoa outright this season. He started all 19 Serie A games before his move, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
His move to Tottenham was dramatic. German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Napoli were after him, but he chose Spurs. Even his agent was surprised.
“I can’t believe we turned down Munich,” said Florin Manea. He had already made a commitment to Tottenham and we decided to respect it. But I’m still shocked,” he said. “Munich is one of the ‘big clubs’ in the world. I still can’t believe he turned down Munich. But it was Dragusin’s and his family’s decision. I explained this to Munich and that it is difficult to change your mind at the last minute.”
His time at Spurs was a nightmare, however, as he was pushed out of the side by Cristian Romero and Mickey van der Vaart. In seven appearances, he made just two starts. 안전놀이터 He played 244 minutes.
Tottenham acquired Dragucin for £21.5 million.
His contract runs until 2030. Spurs have no plans to sell Dragucin. However, they are reportedly willing to sit down at the negotiating table for £40 million.
Dragucin made his first appearance of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) season in the 37th round against Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England. It had been more than 40 days since March 31 against Luton Town.
‘A stroke of luck’ Enze Postecoglou introduced Dragusin in the 30th minute, moving Micky van der Penn to left fullback. Van der Penne joined the attack and scored the winning goal.
Dragucin’s agent is also a “pain in the ass,” as he has been outspokenly unhappy with his lack of playing time recently.
“The manager has said many times that he doesn’t want to play him as a three-back. But Tottenham conceded a lot of goals. Switching to a three-back strengthens the defense,” he taunted, adding, “Tottenham concede a lot of goals from set plays, so Dragucin’s aerial power will be a big help.”
“If Postecoglou only considers Dragucin as an option, he won’t stay on the bench. If he doesn’t play, we have to think of other solutions,” he added.
