Lee Kang-In challenges for attacking point in UCL game

Lee Kang-in, 23, of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the French professional soccer Ligue 1, will be looking for his second consecutive UEFA Champions League (UCL) offensive point.

PSG will take on FC Barcelona (Spain) in the first leg of their 2023-2024 UCL quarterfinal tie at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France, on Nov. 11 at 4 a.m. ET.

While all eyes are on which team will take the lead in securing a spot in the last four, there is also a lot of interest in whether Lee Kang-in will start.

According to French media outlet Le Parisien, Lee is expected to start alongside Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele in the attacking lineup. Lee’s expected position is on the left wing.

Other local outlets such as L’Equipe and Get French Football News also predicted that Lee would start alongside Mbappe and Dembele.

However, 스포츠토토 UEFA and statistical outlet Fúscore.com predicted that Bradley Barcola and Gonzalo Hamus would start in place of Lee, respectively.

If Lee starts against Barcelona,

As predicted by the French media, it will be the second consecutive UCL game in which the South Korean striker has scored an attacking point.

Lee set up Mbappe’s winning goal in the UCL round of 16 second leg against Real Sociedad (Spain) away from home on June 6 (2-1 PSG).

A goal or assist against Barcelona would give him back-to-back UCL offensive points.

Lee has one goal and one assist in six UCL appearances this season. In total, he has made 26 official appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
