Kwak-Bin Kwak has been named the May MVP

Doosan Bears ace Kwak-Bin Kwak has been named the May MVP of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League.

The KBO announced on May 11 that Kwak-Bin was selected as the MVP for May.

Doosan Kwak-bin, who received 24 out of 30 votes (80%) from journalists and 76,251 out of 415,366 votes (18.1%) from fans for a total of 49.04 points, 안전놀이터 beat out second-place LG Twins’ Kim Jin-sung, who received two votes from journalists and 153,920 votes from fans for a total of 21.59 points.

Kwak-Bin’s May was dominant.

He started five games and pitched 30⅓ innings in four wins and a 1.48 ERA in May, leading the league in both wins and ERA. He recorded quality starts in all but one of those five games, including an ace performance against Gwangju KIA on May 24, throwing 110 pitches for seven shutout innings.

Kwak’s performance helped Doosan finish the month of May atop the league standings with 16 wins, two ties and eight losses.

It is the first monthly MVP award for a Doosan player since Ariel Miranda in October 2021, 온라인 슬롯 and the first time a Doosan pitcher has won the monthly MVP award in Korea since Yoo Hee-kwan in July 2016.

As the May MVP, Kwak-Bin will receive a trophy with a cash prize of KRW 2 million, and a donation of KRW 2 million will be made in his name to his alma mater, Jayang Middle School, courtesy of Shinhan Bank.
