Central Defender Cho Yu-min Leaves K League 1 Daejeon and Joins UAE Sharjah
Central defender Cho Yu-min left professional soccer K League 1 team Daejeon Hana Citizen and moved to Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On the 14th, the Daejeon club announced Cho Yu-min’s transfer through social networking service (SNS).
Daejeon said, “We would like to express our gratitude to Jo Yu-min, who has always been a strong supporter of the team in moments of cheer and adversity. 온라인카지노사이트
We support the new challenges of Jo Yu-min, who always energized us with positive energy even under a lot of pressure.”
Cho Yu-min, who wore a Daejeon uniform in the 2022 K-League 2, led promotion as the core and captain of the team’s defense, occupied a spot in the league’s best 11, and was also nominated for the season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
In the 2023 K-League 1 season, he only played in 21 games due to injury, but coach Lee Min-seong still planned to use Jo Yu-min as the core of the defense.
However, with this transfer, Daejeon was given the task of making the most of existing resources, including foreign players such as Anton and Aaron, to fill Cho Yu-min’s gap.
Cho Yu-min, born in 1996, has publicly stated his desire to advance overseas.
Cho Yu-min, who attended the press conference for the 2023 K-League Winter Training Camp held in February last year, responded to a question about overseas expansion by saying, “I am greedy,” and “As a player, the goal is to go to a better stage, a better league or team. “It’s natural,” he said.
Jo Yu-min, who played a big role in Daejeon in 2022, joined his A national team for the first time that summer and continued his success all the way to the finals of the Qatar World Cup.
However, since coach Jürgen Klinsmann took office, he has not been used in the national team.
It appears that he has fallen behind in competition with Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), Kim Young-kwon (Ulsan), and Jeong Seung-hyun (Al Wasl).
Sharjah is ranked 4th in the UAE Professional Football League in the 2023-2024 season with 6 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses.
